One week after surgery

Well today is officially one week since my surgery. Things are going pretty good. I was in alot of pain when I woke up from the surgery but the nurses quickly got it under control. My dr was extremely proud of me and told David and my mom that I was her patient of the year. She couldn't believe how well I had done on my preop diet. Made me feel really good.

The pain wasn't too bad when I got home. The worst part has to be the gas pains. Luckily they seem to be getting less and less with everyday that passes. I have been off my pain med sice Sat morning. I hated the way they made me feel. I am still having some Nausea but it seems to be getting better as well.

Last night I started running a low grade fever. Not sure what that is about cause I really don't feel bad. I have a follow up appt tomorrow at noon and hopefully she will give me a clean bill of health.

I am drinking more liquid with everyday. The first couple of days it was hard to get more than 6oz down. I am now drinking about 20-30 oz a day. Still can't drink my protein drinks as they make me full for hours and I end up drinking nothing while full.

I stepped on the scale today....I have lost 10lbs since the surgery. Brings my total to 37lbs. I am hoping to lose 50 by the new year. If I keep going at this rate it should not be a problem.
I should easily be a 100lb lost by the wedding. I know it's not going to continue coming off this quick but as long as I lose 2-4lbs a week I should be good!

David and I have to go Christmas shopping this weekend. We haven't even begun. Hopefully we can get it all done this weekend so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

Well I guess I should get back to work.

48 hours till surgery

So it's officially 48 hours until my surgery. I must say I am feeling EXTREMELY anxious and nervous. Yesterday the hospital called and asked me a million questions (that they have to) before my surgery. When I hung up that is when I started getting anxious. Up until then I was perfectly calm, cool, and collected! :) The biggest fear for me is waking up with no band. I know that shouldn't because I have stuck to the diet to the T but I guess it's something I'm preparing myself for. (Keep your fingers crossed that it does not happen).

I also had to go get my pre-op testing done (AGAIN) yesterday. My original pre-op testing had expired (stupid dr for making me weight 3 months for my surgery). They had to prick me 4 different times to get blood. That has NEVER happened to me before. I've always been told I have really good and easy veins. Maybe this guy didn't know what he was doing though he swore that if they had trouble finding the vein they always called him. I don't know if I believe that or not. Everyone else was EXTREMELY nice at the hospital. Everyone has been since I've started this whole process.

So to the scales! :) The last post I had reached the 15lbs she wanted me to lose and one more. Since the last post I have lost another 5lbs. I have lost a total of 27lbs. 3 more to go and I will be within MY goal for surgery. I wanted to lose 30-40lbs. I know I can do it.

Today is also my last day of food for 4 weeks. I will be on clear liquids starting tomorrow. Of course after surgery I will be on clear liquids for 2 weeks and then full liquids for another 2 after that. I have not decided what I want for dinner tonight as my "last meal". I know I could really go for a Whopper right now and some Mcd's french fries. I will not of course I will have a meal that fits into the guidelines of the diet.

Anyways I guess I should go for now. I will post again the day of my surgery (Thursday Dec 4th) or the day after. Please keep me in your prayers!
