Time flies once you're married!!!!

Wow where to begin....

Well I guess the best place would be to let everyone know that I am now a full-time Mom!!! Bryan decided he wanted to stay and live with us at the very last minute. We quickly got him enrolled in school and flag football (it was too late to get him in tackle football). Well on day 3 of school I get a call from the school nurse. Bryan had fallen and cut open his arm and needed stitches. So e go pick him up and take him to the ER to get stitches. The dr took a set of x-rays just to be sure he didn't have a fracture....ell that came back positive and the dr thought it was an open fracture so she sent us to the childrens hospital in Austin.
After waiting forever they finally tell us that it was not an open fracture and he would need to be in a cast for 6 weeks and as long as he didn't get an infection he would not have to have surgery.

Well 4 days before Bryan broke his arm, David was at Flag football practice fell and ripped open his hand and had to get 4 stitches.
While all this was going on I as having an extremely severe case of vertigo...after much testing and falling they finally figured out I have positional vertigo. On one of the falls I thought I hyper extended my thumb...after 2 weeks ith no progress in the pain in my thumb/wrist I went to the dr. After an MRI they found no broken bones but I did tear 2 ligaments in my wrist. One 3/4 of the way and the other 1/2. So i am now in a clam shell cast for 6 weeks and man is it ugly!!!!

So needless to say the Reed household has been extremely exciting this past month.

Sorry it's been awhile...

WOW...where to begin...End of Feb and March...what a busy month it has been.

First things first...I FINALLY have my engagement ring. Most of you know David asked me to marry him one night while laying in bed. He had no ring did not drop down to one knee or anything but he asked the words "Will you marry me?" I of course said yes. We started looking at rings shortly after to make it all the more official. I found a set at Zales that I fell in love with. I left small hints for David that it was the ring I wanted but told him whatever ring he picked would be perfect. When we finally saved up the money to get the ring...Zales had discontinued the ring. I was heartbroken...I really didn't like any other ring...so it truly did turn out to be David's pick. Well something came up and we had to spend the money we had saved for the ring on something else. So I had to wait a little longer. He finally told me he wanted to order my ring...he had the money. I went to looking...couldn't find anything that I just REALLY loved. I decided to check Zales one more time to see if my ring was back.....and guess what IT WAS!!!! I told David right away. He ordered it! It felt like forever before the FedEx box was delivered. We came home for lunch and there it sat on the counter. I told myself not to get worked up about it...that David would give it to me when he was ready. That little terd went and took out the ring and was showing it to my dad...all the while I'm in the kitchen making my lunch HOPING he would walk over and hand it to me....well he didn't. I went and sat on the couch to eat my lunch. As I take a big bite of food he walks towards me...drops down on one knee and pulls the ring out of his pocket. He officially asks me to marry him. First picture is of my ring second picture is the bridal set:

We had the kids out here early March for Spring Break. We enjoyed having them out here. I really miss those 3 kiddo's when they aren't here. They had a really good time. We were able to celebrate Christmas with the kids. They were only here for 3 days but we enjoyed all of the time together. I know they had. My dad took them to the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin. They had a blast. Anyone who visits Austin this is a MUST. They have an IMAX and a 4D theater. I know I always enjoy going.

Wed we took the kids down to San Antonio to see the great Alamo. It was shocking to me how little the knew of the Alamo. I guess since I grew up in Texas and was required to take Texas History I know all to much about the Alamo. They live and go to school in Arizona and have never attended Texas's schools so I guess that is why they didn't understand a lot of it. It was super cold and rainy on Wed so everyone just wanted to get in and out and get back to Austin.

David has been staying busy with his flag football team. They have the first game of the season tonight. Watching these guys from when they first started practicing about 2 months ago till now...they have really grown as a team. I think they will do extremely well in their division.

This past weekend all of my bridesmaid's were in town to get fitted for their dresses. I really enjoyed having them here. It's the first time since we started planning the wedding everyone was together. I can't wait to see what the dresses are going to look like in my colors. I tried on my wedding dress again this time. It fits much better than the last time. Actually they are going to have to take it in a little because the bust is a little too big. Thank goodness my girls shrunk!

Enjoy the pics!

WOW What a weekend!

Friday night David and I had date night. We went and saw Push. I thought it was pretty good. David enjoyed it as well. Sat monring I got up and went over to my Mom's. Her secretary brought over some mints that she wanted me to taste. She is making them for the wedding. Oh my gosh are they SO good! She also brought over some different frostings for me to taste to figure out what I wanted on my cake.

We headed to the Monument Cafe in Georgetown for lunch. It was very good and very busy! I highly recomend it.

After lunch we met up with my wedding cordinator Lori. SHE IS AMAZING. LOVED LOVED LOVED HER! She asked about everything. Lots of things I hadn't even thought about. She was listening to everything I was saying and actually talked me into changing our reception location. The new place is GORGEOUS! It has a built in dance floor and oh my gosh I can't wait for everyone to see it. Lori is amazing she figured out how to include a country feel into an elegant wedding and reception. She is well worth her money! :) (I'll post pictures soon...the site crashed in the middle of my blog posting)
After meeting with Lori and looking at the new reception location my Mom and I headed up to Waco. Paul was a table leader at the Walk to Emmaus this weekend. We went up for candlelight. We first stopped and had dinner with my Aunt and Uncle. I always enjoy spending time with them. We laugh constatnlty. We ate at Casa Ole, pretty good Mexican food I must say.

We then headed out the camp grounds for the candelight service. I have not been to one since I was in High School. It was great and moving to see these grown men cry like babies at the out pooring of love from the community. Mom and I got back to Round Rock at about midnight. I was super tired and went straight to bed.

Sunday I spent the whole day spring cleaning. Dusting mopping vaccuming all the good stuff. I then pulled out all of the Christmas decorations and started decorating the house. The kiddo's will be here in 2 weeks and we are having our Christmas with them since we didn't get to see them at Christmas this year. We are doing it up right. Christmas tree decorations and good ol Christmas dinner. It tooke me till 10pm last night but I finally got it done! :) Logged onto Xbox and played a few games of COD4 with my xbox buddies! :)

All in all it was a good weekend. It went buy so fast!

David's Shingles

Man has it been a crazy week last week! Monday David starting breaking out in this rash above his eye. In a matter of 2 hours it spread and started swelling pretty bad so we went to the Dr. The Dr told us it was just a skin infection and put him antibiotics. Poor thing looked horrible. He started the Antibiotics Monday and by Wed his eye was swollen shut and the rash had spread to his scalp and below his eye. He looked like he was in a fight and lost. He told me to let the antibiotics work one more day and if was still spreading on Thursday he would go to the Dr.

At this point I was extremely worried about his eye. The white part of his eye was blood red. I finally talked him into letting me take him to the ER. The ER Dr came in and took one look at his eye and told us he had shingles. They checked out his eye because it was in his eye and could do damage and he could lose his vision. The antibiotics that the Dr put him on Monday did nothing for his shingles. The Dr put him on Valtrex and an antibiotic cream for his eye to keep infection out of his eye. They said David needed to follow up with his primary and get to an eye specialist ASAP.

Fri we went and saw his primary. He said it looked like David was getting an infection on top of the shingles. (GREAT) He put him on another antibiotic and told him to follow up with him on Monday. We also saw the eye specialist on Fri. She said his retnea and cornea looked fine but the white part of his eye was inflamed. She told him to stay on all the medicine and to follow up with him in a week. If things got worse to call her right away.

Today he finally looks like himself again. He has a few scabs around his eye where the shingles were draining but all the swelling is gone. He hasn't been able to work since Tuesday because shingles is HIGHLY contagious. Hopefully he will get released today and he can be back to work tomorrow. Poor guys is on 8 different medicines and the cream for his eye which I have to put in every 6 hours. He wouldn't let me take a picture to show how bad he was or else I would of.

Please keep him in your prayers because they are now trying to figure out what caused his shingles.

Valentine's and Fills

Well Thursday I had my second fill. I did not gain an once nor did I lose an once from my previous appt. (Girl Scout cookies and my lack of control is probably what caused the no weight loss). She put in another 2 CC's and man let me tell you that did the trick. I can REALLY tell a difference when eating. I get full quick. It's great. I have lost 4lbs since the fill on Thursday. It's great to see the scale moving down again. I'm sure having GS cookies out of the house doesn't hurt either! :)

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine's Day. Mine was ehh ok...David is/was sick (see shingle's blog) so I went with my Dad down to San Antonio. His cousin came in from FL and he wanted to see her. My dad still can't really drive long distances since he is in too much pain. He needs someone to drive him around. We had a good time in SA though. Saw my grandparents and went and ate lunch at Texas Road House YUMMY!!! The wait wasn't all that bad either about 20 mins for a table for 7.
Dad and I left super early so David and I didn't get to exchange presents. I was super excited to get home and see what he got me. He did good this year! He got me a dozen red roses, a cute UT purse and the open hearts necklace from Kay Jewlers.

I got David Fallout 3 for his 360, 3 UT shirts that he has been wanting and some candy. We enjoyed spending the night together when I got home from SA. All in All it was a good day.

First Wedding Registry

David and I decided we where going to start registering this weekend. We went ahead and registered at Dillard's. We had so much fun looking for stuff. David also put some silly stuff on the registry. He must of done it while my back was turned LOL. ie he asked for a cotton candy machine and an old fashioned popcorn maker. LOL Will be interesting to see if we get one HA!

We found lots of stuff we loved. How could we not, we were at Dillard's. :) We picked out our china, stem ware, and silverware. I was almost over whelmed at how much they put into making sure you pick the right set. The set a table setting for us plates, glasses, and silverware so we could decide.

We will probably go register at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond this upcoming weekend if we have time. We have a pretty busy weekend. We are meeting with our photographer and David has football practice. Mom wants me to come over on Sat and go through Christmas decorations and pick out what I want. (David is gonna love that). Hopefully we can squeeze in at least one registry.

First Fill & it HURT

Well so I finally had my first fill. It was different..and it HURT!

First off my Dr's office left me sitting in the waiting room for an hour and 15 mins because someone forgot to pull my chart. I guess I should of said something sooner but everyone else had been sitting in the waiting area longer then I so I just figured my Dr was running late.

I gained 6lbs of the 12lbs I lost back. I hate that but the Dr assured me that it is completely normal and to not sweat it. She started off by pushing all over my stomach trying to find my port (it is attached to my abdominal muscle with stitches). This is what hurt so freaking bad. She had me coming off the table with pain. I'm still really sore from the surgery. It was not fun.

She found it so now it's time for the needles. Did I mention I HATE needles. I asked for some numbing medicine...I really didn't want to feel this huge needle in my abdomen. She stuck the needle in and had a hard time finding the port. She must of stuck me 7 different times and kept readjusting the needle. Thank goodness I couldn't feel any of it. She finally decided that she needed a longer needle. She moved from a 4 inch to an 8 inch needle. She hit the port very first try. She stuck it straight into it.

She filled me up 2cc's and put me on liquids for 3 days. I have lost 4lbs since the fill so I guess something is right. I still can eat bread (everyone says you can't once you hit that sweet spot) and I am still hungry in between meals. I am going back from another fill on the 12th but I think I am going to push it up since I do not have much restriction if any still. The good news is the scale is going back down now though! :)

Final pictures of the new place

Here are the last few pics of the new place. I apologize for the blurry yellow pics..don't know what was up with my camera.

First Pictures of the New Apartment

I promised I would post some pics of the apartment...so hear ya go. I will post more of the bedrooms once we get all my dad's stuff out of the guest room. He is still bring stuff over daily.
I still need to hang up the pictures in our bedroom. As soon as I do that I will post those as well.

This is our front door. You walk directly into the kitchen. Off to the right when you walk in is our pantry and washer and dryer.

This is looking at the kitchen from the living room. It's small but we really like it.
This is our game room (should be our dining room LOL) This is our living room. The door in the picture is the door to the Master bedroom.

This is the other side of our living room The hally way where the other 2 bedrooms are. Door straight ahead is my Dad's room. Door to the left is the kid's room. Door on the right is the bathroom.

David's (guest) bathroom. My mother gave him a set of UT towels for Christmas. He begged and begged to decorate the guest bath in The University of Texas. I gave in. It's not my favorite...but it is growing on me I guess.

I will post pics of the bedrooms as soon we get my dad all settled in.

A New Year

Man has it been a busy couple of weeks. Not only did we have the holidays, David and I had to move the day after Christmas. The holiday's were great. David and I really enjoyed spending lots of time with the family. We sure did miss spending time with the kids though. We will get to see them in March and plan on having a full blown out Christmas for them though.

Poor David ended up moving us. What a strong man he is. It took him about 8 hours but we were in. I spent the rest of the weekend getting us unpacked and the apartment livable. I can not tell you how much I hate living out of boxes. I am proud of myself though because by Sunday afternoon everything was done. I will take some pictures and post them up. I really love this new place.

We moved in my Dad yesterday. He will be staying with us for some time. Poor David...he did all of that too. What a trooper of a fiance I have. I couldn't of asked for a better man.

David has started his 1200 calorie diet today. He is wanting to lose about 50lbs by the wedding. I know he can do it. I on the other hand have stalled in losing weight. I am so ready for my first fill. I need to fill that restriction. Hopefully the first fill they can put in lots of saline so I can have that restriction.

We officially started the countdown to the wedding. We officially have 6 months and 29 days. David woke me up the other night to talk about invitations. I was tickled...he hasn't been involved too much. I wish he hadn't woken me up at midnight to talk about it but was still tickled. He has brought up the wedding at least once everyday the past couple of days. I am glad he wants to be more involved with everything.

We are going to sign our catering contract this weekend. I am so nervous about doing it since it is the most costly thing about our wedding so far. Then I guess we will be registering within the next month or so. I know it is going to fly by. I am so ready for it though.

We are attending a wedding tomorrow afternoon for one of my oldest friends. He is getting married in Belton. His future wife is so precious. I couldn't of picked a better mate for him. Well I guess I need to log off of here and get dinner started for David and Dad.

Hope everyone has a great new year!
