So I guess I can blog about the 2 biggest things in my life right now.
1) Planning my wedding
2) My lapband journey
I will start with the Wedding.
I am getting married Aug 1, 2009 it's 8 months away and I am already freaking out a little bit. I'm trying to wrap my head around the budget David (my fiance') and I have set. Wedding's are expensive. I know they don't have to be but I really want it a certain way. We have decided on the church and reception location. Everything is pretty much planned out just need to pay for it all..I have my wedding dress it's already paid for. (I will post some pics soon promise) Have my veil and tiara; flowers; photographer; invitations and all that jazz.
We are making our own invitations (so much cheaper then buying them). I orderd some samples of the paper and vellum we will use today. They should be here next week. I am so excited to make some "mock" invitations and see how they turn out. I will take some pictures and post them up here for everyone to see.
Ok enough about the wedding moving on to the weight loss journey.
I have been obese from the age of 6 on. I was still very athletic and into sports when I was younger but I guess I just loved stuffing my face. A lady here at work had the lapband done 2 years go and she looks AMAZING. I started reaserching into it about the time she had surgery done. I researched and researched but really didn't care about it. I was me and people should love me and accept me the way I am.
Then I meet David. He changed everything...he doesn't even know he did. I fell in love and wanted to marry this guy. He was going to be my family and I wanted to raise a family with this man. I know I couldn't get pregnant at my current weight. So it was set...I was going to see the dr to see about the lap band. We want children and I am willing to do whatever it takes to do it.
Dr told me I was prime candidate, I was young and healthy (except for my weight). We started all the preop testing. I had to get a psy eval done (this was not fun) but I passed with flying colors. Also had to get blood work and an EKG both tured out normal except for the liver function was a little elevated. I also had to have an excercise consult and a nutritional consult. I had my final appt with my surgeon to set my surgery date. She asked me to start my preop diet that day because of my liver function. I will be on the diet for 5 weeks.
Week 1 of the preop diet is over. I weighed my self this morning and I am down 9lbs. She wanted me to lose 15 before surgery so I only have another 6 left for her standards. My standards on the other hand are set alot higher. I want to lose 30-40lbs in these 5 weeks before my surgery. I am well on my way.
Well I guess I should close for now. I know i'm rambling. Check back in a few days for more updates.
